MANUEL BATISTA CASTILLO

Lawyer with extensive experience in the practice of law, both in the public and private sectors. He has provided services since 2004, specializing in Corporate Business Law and matters related to regulated sectors, with dedication to the areas of: law of obligations, negotiation and drafting of all types of contracts, electricity law, national and international commercial arbitration (Ad hoc and institutional), investment arbitration, alternative dispute resolution mechanisms (mediation, conciliation), civil procedure, liability for damages, public procurement and contracting, public credit, free access to public information, telecommunications law, computer law, cybercrimes, commercial and administrative law.

 

He began his career as a lawyer in the legal department of the Corporación Dominicana de Empresas Eléctricas Estatales (CDEEE), which is the leading entity coordinating all strategies, objectives and actions of the state-owned electric companies, where he became deputy legal director.

 

Mr. Batista Castillo has also been a professor at the Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE), the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD), and the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM), both as a full-time and substitute professor. Since 2009, he has been teaching Introduction to Civil Law I and II at the Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE).
